Admission shall be based on academic record and performance on entrance examination conducted by IIM - ITC.

Details information with respect to standard of questions and procedure of admission shall be available from the reception of the institute. Prescribed Application Form along with Prospectus shall be available from the Institution on payment of Rs 125/- ( Rupees One hundred and twenty five only) for mailing by Regd.Post) The Application form can also be downloaded from the site, www.iimkol.org and sent along with DD for Rs. 125/-( Rupees One hundred twenty five only) in favoure of Institute of Instrumentation and Metrology.

• Candidates must be class X passed for courses affiliated to NCVT and shall be granted admission on first come first serve basis
• Madhyamik Passed are eligible for admission of the STVT courses affiliated to WBSCTE
• Higher Secondary pass or equivalent in any stream are eligible for the course in Process Instrument Technician’ and Higher Secondary or Equivalent in Science Stream ‘Basic Course on Operation and Maintenance of Biomedical Equipment’ conducted in collaboration with Aliah University

Within 10 days after examination

Result shall be published on the Notice Board of the Institution.

Date of admission are announced during counseling for admission

The course fee shall be as per norms set by the Governing Body of the Institute from time to time. Full amount of course fee shall be paid at the time of admission.

Continuous internal Assessment based on tests and assignment and end of term examination as approved by the regulation of NCVT for two years craftsmen training in the streams of (i) INSTRUMENT MECHANIC and (ii) ELECTRICAL. 

Same procedure is followed for various courses conducted from Institute with affiliation of different approval bodies.

•  NCVT trade ITI courses in i) Electrician Trade – 63 Seats and ii) Instrument Mechanic – 42 Seats

• One year Certification courses in i) Process Instrumentation Technician – 25 Seats and ii) Basic course on operation and maintenance of Biomedical Equipment – 25 Seas in collaboration with Aliah University.

• Six months Certification course with affiliation of WBSCTE  in i) Operation & Maintenance of Industrial Equipments & Instrumentation    – 30 Seats ii) Operation and Maintenance of Process Control Automation – 30 Seats iii) Financial Accounting System – 20 Seats and    iv) AutoCAD -20 Seats.

• Certificate courses in i) Computer  Hardware &  Networking 20 seats ii) AUTOCAD 20 seats iii) Repair of Refrigeration & A.C Seats iv)   Repair of Electrical Appliances 20 Seats for in collaboration with National Small Industries Corporation
